بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

I, Yusuf Ibrahim Al-Rahman, write this Wasiyya Supplement as an act of ibadah (worship) and in obedience to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who said: "It is the duty of a Muslim who has anything to bequeath not to let two nights pass without writing a will about it." (Bukhari)

This document expresses my sincere wishes, explains my religious obligations, and serves as a personal letter to those I love most. I pray that Allah accepts it as a sadaqa jariya on my behalf.

The fara'id shares in my Will are not personal choices or reflections of how much I love each family member. They are a divine command — in place for over 1,400 years — that I am bound to follow as a Muslim. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Learn the laws of inheritance and teach them, for they are half of all knowledge." (Ibn Majah). All four major schools of Islamic jurisprudence — Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali — are in agreement on these shares.

To my beloved wife Fatima: You have been my greatest support, my companion in this dunya, and my partner in raising our children. The 1/8 share you receive is mandated by Allah — it is not a measure of your worth, which is immeasurable to me. You are also entitled to your full deferred mahr as a debt of my estate — please ensure Omar presents our nikah-nama to the Executor. I pray we are reunited in Jannah.

To my son Ibrahim: You carry the name of a Prophet. Be the man of this family with wisdom and compassion. Your double share comes with double responsibility — to care for your mother, your sister, and those around you. Use this wealth in the way of Allah.

To my daughter Aisha: You are my joy. Named after the Mother of the Believers. Your share is prescribed by Allah, and it is yours by divine right. Do not let anyone diminish its value. Invest it wisely and let it be a source of barakah for you and your family.

I write this section with full awareness of the Family Protection Act 1955 (NZ). I acknowledge each person who may have standing under that Act: my wife Fatima Al-Rahman and my children Ibrahim and Aisha Al-Rahman.

I wish to make clear that the distribution in my Will provides adequate provision for each of them in accordance with my deeply held religious beliefs. To vary the fara'id shares — which are a direct command from Allah — would require me to violate a divine obligation. I respectfully request that any court give full weight to this religious statement pursuant to section 32 of the Wills Act 2007.

I am making this Will freely, with full knowledge of its contents, and in sound mind and health. This is my sincere and considered expression of my religious duty.

I have directed 10% of my net estate to Islamic Relief New Zealand as sadaqa jariya. I have chosen this charity because of their transparent operations and their work in alleviating suffering among Muslim communities worldwide. I ask my Executor to ensure this is paid within 3 months of probate, and I encourage my family to make additional personal donations in my memory.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity (sadaqa jariya), beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for him." (Muslim)

I request Islamic burial without delay. Please call NZMA (0800 526 2292) immediately. Ghusl should be performed by a Muslim male. I wish to be buried at Waikumete Cemetery, Auckland, facing the qiblah. No embalming. No cremation. Janazah salah is to be performed. Please invite the community — pray for me with sincerity.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

"Our Lord, grant us goodness in this world and in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." (Quran 2:201)

I pray that Allah forgives my shortcomings, accepts my good deeds, and grants me mercy on the Day of Judgement. I pray that my family remains united, holds fast to the deen, and that we are all gathered together in Jannah Al-Firdaus. Ameen.

1. Sign this Will today in the presence of two independent witnesses.
2. Give a copy to your Executor: Omar Hassan (034 Hillview Road, Manurewa).
3. Tell two people where the original signed Will is stored.
4. Note the location of your nikah-nama, KiwiSaver documents, and insurance policies inside this document.
5. Store the signed original in a bank safety deposit box or fireproof safe at home.
6. Review this Will every 3 years or after any major life event (new child, divorce, property purchase).

1. Two witnesses required — must be 18 or over, not beneficiaries or married to beneficiaries.
2. Both witnesses must be physically present at the same time when the testator signs.
3. Testator Yusuf Ibrahim Al-Rahman signs first on every page, including the final attestation clause.
4. Both witnesses then sign the attestation block immediately after the testator.
5. All parties print full name, address, and occupation under signatures.
6. Write the complete date on every signature page.
7. Black pen only. No correction fluid.

1. Get 3 certified copies made by a Justice of the Peace — a solicitor is optional, not required.
2. Give the original Will to Omar Hassan or store in a bank safety deposit box.
3. Give one certified copy to a trusted family member.
4. If you have a solicitor, give them a copy for safekeeping — if not, this step is not required.
5. Photograph every signed page with your phone as a backup.
6. Store your asset list, insurance policies, and KiwiSaver details with the will copies.
7. Update your asset list annually.

1. Do not move the body — call NZMA (0800 526 2292) first for ghusl and janazah arrangements.
2. Notify immediate family and close friends.
3. Contact Executor Omar Hassan immediately — he holds a copy of this Will.
4. Register the death with Births, Deaths & Marriages: 0800 225 252.
5. Do NOT distribute any assets before probate is granted.
6. Locate the original signed Will.

1. Contact Fisher Funds and request a "Withdrawal on Death" form.
2. Provide: certified death certificate + Grant of Probate + ID of Executor.
3. KiwiSaver funds are paid into the estate (not directly to beneficiaries).
4. Timeline: approximately 4–8 weeks after probate.
5. Include in fara'id distribution.

1. Obtain original death certificate from BDM (0800 225 252).
2. Locate the original signed Will.
3. Prepare asset list and valuations.
4. Apply to the High Court for Grant of Probate (4–8 weeks, engage a solicitor).
5. Once probate is granted — Executor has legal authority to administer the estate.
6. Pay all debts, wasiyya, then distribute fara'id shares to heirs.
